Twilight Athens Weekend

On Saturday, April 28th, we drove to Athens for the 2012 Twilight Athens.  This is a huge professional criterium race preceded by a full day of entertainment and fun!  There were bounce houses, blow up slides, a bungee trampoline jump, vendor displays, BMX Stunt shows, and lots of other activities.  This is our first time at anything like this, but I know it won't be our last!  We all had a lot of fun!!  Brody has already requested to go back next year and take his bike with us!

Brody's First Marathon

On Friday, April 27th, Brody completed his first marathon!!!  We started in January running one mile at a time until he reached 25 (actually a little over 25) miles.  On Friday night, he and over 7,000 other kids completed their marathon journeys.  I was lucky enough to be able to run most of those miles with him, including his final 1/2 mile.  He has done awesome with this!  When we started in January, he walked a little more than he ran, but now, he is able to run a mile without stopping!  We are so proud of him for seeing this big commitment through!!  There are not many 5 year olds that can say they have run 26.2 miles!!  Brody, you are truly an inspiration!

Easter 2012

The boys woke up Easter morning to Easter Baskets (or bags) from the Easter Bunny, and they were so excited!!! These precious smiles make me so happy!!
Before church, we took our traditional holiday family pictures. Jason and I have tried to do this every holiday. It's amazing to see how much the boys change from one year to the next.
After church, we went over to Granny Shug's house for lunch. We had a great time visiting with family, and the boys had a great time playing and hunting for eggs with their cousins.

Bluegrass Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter, Bluegrass had a big Egg Hunt and Celebration. This is the first year we have been able to go, since the boys are much more flexible on nap times!! We saw some great friends, took pictures with the Easter Bunny, got bunny tattoos, and had a lot of fun. The boys even made their very first Pawfect Pals, which is like Build a Bear. This was a great way to start our Easter Weekend!
