Disney World Day 2...Magic Kingdom

We decided to spend day 2 at the Magic Kingdom.  I have to admit that I was so overwhelmed when we first walked into this park and saw Cinderella's Castle and all of the different lands there were to visit.  It is just so big!  Jason and I knew there would be no way for us to see everything, so we picked the rides that the boys would like best...starting with Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin!  We hit this ride at the perfect time, because there was no line at all! We actually rode it two times in a row with no wait!!

After the Buzz ride, we rode several other fun ones...It's a Small World, The Barnstormer, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Peter Pan's Flight, Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Tomorrowland Speedway (Brody's favorite), People Mover, and the Astro Orbiter.  We tried to ride Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh, but the wait times for those were really long!!!  Another highlight at Magic Kingdom was the Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor interactive show.  It was hilarious, and the boys talked about "Mike Wazowski" for the rest of the night!

The best part of the day for Colby was meeting Buzz Lightyear!!  Both boys loved getting their pictures made with him and giving him a high five!

We had a great day 2!!  I think Magic Kingdom is probably Brody's favorite park, but then again, it is hard to pick!

Disney World Day 1...Epcot

After checking into our room and dropping off our bags, we headed straight to our first park...Epcot.  The boys were so excited to ride on the shuttle without car seats or seat belts. This was super cool to them!

As soon as we walked into the park, we spotted our first characters.  The boys LOVED meeting characters and having their pictures made with them.

Brody was eager to get on a ride, so he and Jason jumped in line for Soarin'.  Apparently this ride normally has a wait time of over an hour, but they only had to wait about 30 minutes! Since Colby wasn't tall enough to ride this one yet, he and I watched "Circle of Life, An Environmental Fable" and then did Living with the Land, which is a 15 minute boat ride through different lands and green houses.  We finished just in time to go to our first dinner reservation at the Coral Reef Restaurant. The food was great, and there was a huge full wall aquarium in the front of the restaurant to enjoy.

After dinner, we headed to the Seas with Nemo and Friends ride followed by an interactive Turtle Talk with Crush show.  We heard "totally dude" about a hundred times that night!!  While waiting for the show to start, the boys played Mr. Ray's Pop Quiz and became Sea Experts!

This was our first official meet and greet with the Fab 5.  This was the longest we waited in line for anything while we were at Disney, and we only had to wait about 45 minutes.  It was worth every second, though, when we saw the looks on their faces as they hugged and high fived the characters.

After a full morning in the car, no nap, and all of the excitement of arriving in Disney World, Colby was done!!  He was beyond exhausted and all he wanted to do was go back to the room and go to bed!  As soon as Jason and Brody rode Mission: SPACE, we did just that!  It was a great first day of our Disney World Vacation!

Disney World

This year's Fall Break will be one that we remember forever, because we took our boys to Disney World for the first time!  This trip has been in the makings for a year now, and I was so happy that we were finally able to go and have the time of our lives!!

We drove halfway Thursday night and spent the night in Macon, Georgia.  Then finished the long drive Friday morning and arrived at our resort in Disney World Friday afternoon.  We stayed at the new Art of Animation Resort, which is amazing!  This resort made the trip even more magical!  There are 4 themed sections to the resort, and the boys loved all 4 of them!  There was Cars, Lion King, Finding Nemo, and The Little Mermaid.  We stayed in one of the Cars Family Suites and had the life size Lightning McQueen and Sally right outside our door!

Our room was great!  There was a separate bedroom and bathroom for Jason and me, a pull out couch, a murphy bed that doubled as a table, a second bathroom, and a small kitchen area with a fridge.  Everything in the room was Cars themed, including "cone" lamps, "car wash" bathroom, table with a map of Radiator Springs, etc.  The boys noticed and loved every single detail!!!

Our second favorite section in the resort was Lion King.  Colby has already asked to stay in this section next time we go!

The Little Mermaid...

Finding Nemo...

There were tons of sketches of the characters from these 4 movies in various stages on the walls in the lobby.  Brody and Colby wanted their pictures made by almost all of them!  They said they wanted to have the pictures so they could remember everything from the trip. I love this about our boys!  They always notice and appreciate their surroundings, even the smallest details!
