Clarksville Soccer Tournament

Brody played in his last tournament for the Spring 2015 season on Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, in Clarksville.  His team played great, but unfortunately came up just short of being finalists.  Their last game was so close, and every one of them left it all out their on the field.  We could not be any prouder of all of them!

Playing up an age group this season has definitely been a big learning experience for Brody.  I think he has grown a lot in the last few months...improving his foot skills, his speed, and his ability to work together with his teammates.  He has had to learn a lot in a very short time, and we are proud of him for working so hard to do this.  We love watching him play, and we are looking forward to many more seasons!

Kindergarten QU Wedding and Graduation

The Kindergartners participated in the wedding of Mr. Q and Miss U before graduation on Friday, May 15.  Mrs. Arwood's and Mrs. Tracey's wedding parties were absolutely adorable, and the ceremony was precious!  Each class had a groom, bride, father of the bride, groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girls, and ushers.  Colby was the father of the bride for his class and got to respond with "The Alphabet and I" when the officiant asked, "Who gives Miss U to be Mr. Q's wife?"   The kids had a lot of fun with this, and I'm guessing they will not forget that Q and U belong together in words!

Right after the wedding of Mr. Q and Miss U, the kids changed into their caps and gowns for graduation.  I cannot believe that this year is already over, and our little guy is heading to 1st grade!  This has been an amazing year for Colby.  He has really improved on his reading and writing, gained confidence in his abilities, made some great friends, and had a lot of fun while doing it!   Mrs. Arwood is an incredible person and teacher, and we are not surprised at all that she was named Sumner County Teacher of the Year for 2015.  We are very proud of Colby and all that he has accomplished this year, and we cannot wait to see how he does in first grade next year.

Colby's Brown Bag Book Report

On Thursday, May 14, Colby presented his Brown Bag Book Report on Froggy Goes to the Doctor to his class.  He and Jason did a great job on recreating the cover of the book for his bag, and he used some awesome props that we borrowed from two of our friends, the Schimmels and Dr. Catherine Wiggleton.  Colby was excited to have a real stethoscope, otoscope, and reflex hammer to use for this report!

Mrs. Arwood's reviews of his book report were good.  She said he did a great job retelling the story and used lots of expression.  I guess that shouldn't surprise anyone!  He is definitely a little ham.

Field Day 2015

Field Day was Friday, May 8.  It was sunny, hot, and beautiful...a perfect day for a fun filled Field Day!  Both boys had a lot of fun, and I am just so thankful I was able to be there all day to enjoy it with them.
