Church Camp

Brody attended his second church day camp June 15-19.  He loved last summer and was really looking forward to another great week!  This camp provides so many fun activities for the kids, all centered around learning more about God and His love. We are so thankful for our church, the camp directors, and the amazing counselors that volunteer their time to make it an awesome week for these kids!

On Friday night, we joined the campers at Whispering Pines for dinner and an awards presentation.  Brody was given the Camper of the Week award for the whole camp again this summer!   We could not be any prouder of this guy!  His love for God and for others is truly amazing.  He always finds ways to help those around him, and he loves to encourage others.  We pray that he always has a servant's heart.

Sharing our Story

The youth group's Wednesday night summer series is about different trials that people face in life.   On  June 17, we were asked to come and share our story about Colby and his heart defects.  Landry, one of our youth group staff, even asked Brody and Colby questions, and they did so great answering!  I am so proud of how well they handled themselves.  I am also shocked at just how much they both truly understand.  Colby gave a full explanation of the blood drive and bake sale that we hold every February, and he even knew why we do it.

We are so thankful to have the opportunity to share our story with the youth.  I pray that they were able to see how God has been with us every step of this extremely difficult journey, and how He continues to be with us now.  I want them to know that when they are faced with a difficult trial, which they inevitably will be at some point in their lives, they can always count on God to get them through.  Our God is an awesome God, and He will never fail us.

Summer Haircuts

The boys got summer haircuts, and they couldn't be any more handsome!

3v3 Tournament in Bowling Green

On Saturday, June 6, Brody played in his second 3v3 tournament in Bowling Green.  The boys started out a little slow and unfortunately lost their first game.  During the second game, though, something clicked with them, and they started playing together as a team.  They won their last 3 games and ended the tournament in 2nd place!  We are so proud of these boys and how hard they played.

Moving Day

We said goodbye to our house of 10 years on Monday, June 1.  We loved this house and all the memories that we made there.  We brought both boys home to that house, we held their birthday parties in our backyard, we hosted a big 3rd of July fireworks party every year, we had awesome neighbors that became dear friends, and so much more.  This house will always be very special to us.  We pray that the new owners will love it as much as we have, and we pray that they are able to make tons of wonderful memories there...just like we did.

3v3 Soccer Tournament at Moss Wright Park

We came back from the beach on Friday night, and Brody played in his first 3v3 soccer tournament of the summer on Saturday morning.  It unfortunately ended up being a tough day for the boys.  They had a couple of losses early, and then storms came through cancelling their remaining games.  They may not have had a successful tournament, but they did had fun.  For that, we are thankful!

Colby Loses Tooth Number 2

Colby lost his second tooth while we were at the beach, which is exactly where Brody lost his second tooth two years ago.  The boys couldn't believe that they were both lucky enough to lose teeth at the beach.  Apparently we told Brody a couple years ago that the tooth fairy paid more at the beach.  Lucky for us, the tooth fairy didn't disappoint...Colby woke up to $7!

Harper and Darbye were so thoughtful and bought Colby a little glow in the dark tooth to leave his tooth in for the tooth fairy.  He was so excited, and he can't wait to lose another tooth to use it again!

Summer Vacation

School ended on Thursday, and on Saturday morning, we headed for the beach.  We spent a week in Seacrest with my mom, dad, sister, and her girls.  The weather was great, and the family time was even better!  I am so glad that we had the opportunity to do this together this year, and I really hope that we can do it again soon.
