Thanksgiving

I am so thankful for this life and these three people God has blessed me with.  I can't even imagine my life without these boys in it.  They make me a better person by inspiring me to do more, be more, say more, love more.  So, on this Thanksgiving day, and every day of my life, I will "give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever." (1 Chronicles 16:34)  Happy Thanksgiving!

Pictures with Santa

Every year, we meet my mom, sister, and her girls at Opry Mills the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to see Santa and take some pictures for my mom's Christmas card.  I love this tradition!  The kids have so much fun, and we get some cute pictures of these cute cousins!

Brody's 4-H poster

In 4th grade, 4-H comes into the schools and gets the kids involved in their program.  They have meetings throughout the year, and at each meeting, the kids are assigned a fun project.  The first project was a poster contest, where the kids create a poster to promote 4-H.  Brody came up with his slogan, and then found a picture online that he could use for inspiration. I love that he is so creative and artistic, because I am lacking in that department for sure!  I think his finished product turned out great!!!

Messi at 8 months old

Pirate Day

To celebrate the last day of a successful Book Fair, our school had "dress like a pirate day."  I love these little pirates!

Halloween

Lionel Messi and our creepy clown had a fun night of trick-or-treating this year with some friends from church.

Halloween Costume Party

Jason and I co-hosted an adults only Halloween Costume party at our house on Saturday, October 29th. We loved seeing every one's cute and creative costumes!   It was such a fun night of hanging out and playing games with friends that we might have to make this one an annual event.

Field Trips to Rock Castle

On Thursday, October 20, Brody and the 4th grade went to Rock Castle.  Then, Colby and the 2nd grade went on Friday.  I was fortunate enough to attend both days with both my boys.  I love any time I can spend with these great kids!

Fall Break

The boys have been wanting to see a Major League Soccer game in person, so for Fall Break this year, Jason made that happen.  He and our friend, Donnie, found a game in Chicago and then planned a 4 day trip around it from October 12-15.

Our first stop was Indianapolis.  We had a great time walking around the city all afternoon exploring.  I think the highlight of Indianapolis for the kids was the NCAA Hall of Champions, and the virtual sports simulator was fun for all of us!

After spending the night in Indianapolis, we headed for Chicago.  This is the first time the boys and I have ever been to Chicago, and we loved it!  We walked a lot, ate a lot, and had tons of fun!  The first day, we went to the top of the Willis Tower and got an awesome view of Chicago.

The night of the soccer game was freezing, but it was so much fun!  Seeing the boys' faces light up as they watched these professional soccer players on that field was priceless.  They have already decided that we need to travel to different states and watch more games in person, which I think is an awesome idea!

We spent the next day shopping, seeing the "beach," exploring the zoo, and we ended the day at Navy Pier.
