Last Day of School

Another great school year has come to an end...way too quickly!  The boys have now finished up 3rd and 1st grades.

First day of school...

 Last day of school...

We are really going to miss Mrs. Watson.  Her passion for books and reading is contagious, and we've watched Brody's love for reading grow over the last several months because of this.  She is an awesome teacher and truly loves each and every child in her class.  We are very thankful for a great 3rd grade year for Brody!

We were so happy when Colby was placed in Mrs. Pinson's class this year.  Brody loved her in 1st grade, and we knew Colby would too.  Mrs. Pinson expects a lot from her students, and she knows just how to help them rise up to meet those expectations.  She is especially good at keeping our little Colby in line!  We are very thankful that both our boys were blessed with Mrs. Pinson as their 1st grade teacher.

Mr. Manners

We are so proud of Brody for being awarded the "Mr. Manners" award this school year...for always being respectful and courteous to everyone.  I can't think of a nicer award to receive from your teacher. He also received perfect attendance.  Way to go buddy!

Colby's Spring Soccer Season

Colby had a great season with the Tennessee United Soccer Club Junior Academy.  The coaches are awesome, and he has learned so much over the last year.  He is all soccer, all the time right now...watching soccer on TV, playing soccer, and collecting soccer cards. He truly loves this sport, and we are so thankful that he is able to play.  He is already signed up and looking forward to next season!

1st Grade Author's Party

The big first grade Author's Party was on Thursday, May 19.  Each first grader presented a book that they had written, illustrated, and published over the last 4 months.  These kids have worked so hard on these books during Writing Workshop, and their hard work definitely showed.  All of the books were creative, unique, and entertaining.  Thanks to a very talented parent, Paul Kirkpatrick, the cover artwork looked fantastic and made the books even more special for the kids.

Colby chose to write his book about his heart, and hearing him tell his personal story from his own perspective was awesome!  I have so many favorite lines from this little book, but the one that pretty much sums up how he feels about having half of a heart is this one..."I just love having a half of a heart.  It's so, so, so fun!!!"  We are so incredibly proud of him, and we are very thankful that he is proud of the heart God gave him.

Boys' First Concert...Pentatonix

We surprised the boys with tickets to Pentatonix on Tuesday, May 10.  They were so excited to experience their first concert.  It was a late concert on a school night, but it was one of those special times that we couldn't pass up.  I love seeing such big smiles on their sweet faces!  Priceless!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a great day.  Brody, Colby, and their sweet daddy made me feel special and loved!  I am one blessed mom to have these two amazing kids!

Field Day

This year's Field Day was Friday, May 6, and the weather could not have been more perfect.  This is always such a fun day for the kids!  Brody and Colby loved all of the games, watching a movie during lunch, and ending the day with Tug of War.

Chattanooga Soccer Tournament

Brody had his first overnight soccer tournament in Chattanooga the last weekend of April.  The weather was a little crazy with storms, but we survived with only a few delays.  We had so much fun watching him play, hanging out with old friends, and making some new friends.  His team ended the tournament with 1 loss, 1 tie, and 1 win.  We were all happy to end the weekend with a win!
