Celebrating Christmas at Aunt Becky and Uncle Albert's House

I am so thankful that we were able to get together at Aunt Becky and Uncle Albert's house for Christmas this year. I love them lots, and we all really look forward to seeing them every year at Christmas.  I hate that Uncle Albert was unable to join us, though.  Feel better soon Uncle Albert!!

Christmas Day

We went over to Gacky and Poogie's house for lunch and to celebrate Christmas with them, Jeanine, Harper, and Darbye.  It was so nice to spend some time with all of them!

Colby was very excited to open new super hero characters.  He got several little ones and some 12 inch tall ones.  I think he was a little disappointed after not finding any under the tree from Santa, so this made him much happier!

Brody was really hoping he would get a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas, and my parents didn't disappoint.  He was so excited!!  He convinced my dad and Jason to take him out to shoot it right after he opened it.  It was so fun watching the three of them together shooting this gun. Brody's first shot hit on the target, and after about 20 minutes, he shot his first bullseye!  I guess that's what happens when you have these 2 sharp shooters teaching you.

We left my parents and headed over to Jeremy and Tammy's house for dinner and to celebrate Christmas with Poppy.  We were all dragging, but the boys found plenty of energy to play and open their presents from Poppy. On the way home, though, Colby crashed!  He was sound asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car.  It was a long day, but I'm so thankful we had such an amazing Christmas!  God is so good!

Christmas Morning

The boys woke up on Christmas morning trapped in their room.  Our elf, Truzz, apparently didn't want them sneaking out early to peak at their presents.  Good idea Truzz!!  I did not want to miss their sweet faces when they saw their presents under the tree for the first time.  Their expressions are my favorite part of Christmas morning.

Santa put 3D glasses in both boys' stockings, and there was a 3D blu ray player under the tree.  Brody was happy but a little confused.  He wasn't sure how they were going to use those without a 3D TV, which they both really wanted.  We decided to look around to see if maybe Santa had left one somewhere in the house.

Found it!  Santa had left a 3D TV in the boys' playroom upstairs.  Their expressions are priceless!

Even after all of the excitement of their presents, the boys wanted to watch Jason and me open our presents from them.  It makes me so happy that they love to give to others!!

They couldn't wait any longer to watch one of their new 3D movies from Santa!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at our house again this year with Nenny and Pa, Nana, Jeremy, Tammy, and Emilee and Kylee.  Jason and I made a big dinner, the kids played, and then we opened presents, which is obviously the kids' favorite part of the night.

After the family left, the boys prepared for Santa's arrival.  They sprinkled reindeer food in the yard, left milk and cookies out for Santa, and then we read "The Night Before Christmas" as a family.  It was cool reading it this year, because the boys actually took turns reading instead of Jason reading it to them.  Colby had most of it memorized from his program, but the parts he didn't remember, he was able to sound out and read with a little help from Brody.  Jason and I loved listening to them read!  It looks like we now have a new tradition.
