Project Heart's Little Heart Big Art Event

We were very excited to attend Project Heart's Little Heart Big Art event this year.  It was so much fun seeing these Junior Artists' creations being auctioned off to benefit CHD research.  Colby created a Nashville Predators piece, and he was very adamant that we come home with it.  Lucky for us, we were able to "win" that during the live auction.

This event was a huge success, raising over $45,000, and all of this money goes directly to the CHD research being done at the Monroe Carrel Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.  These doctors and their amazing research projects are going to change the lives of so many kids affected with CHDs!

Colby's Cardiology Check up

Colby had a check up with Dr. Doyle on September 19, and we are so thankful to have received a good report!  He still has a very low heart rate, but since his body is tolerating it well for now, we will just continue to wait and watch.  His echo also showed that his mitral valve is leaking.  This was first noticed in 2013, and since there has been no dramatic change since then, we will also just continue to watch this as he grows.

The highlight of the visit for Colby was challenging Dr. Doyle to their regular race through the halls, as well as a burpee challenge.  Dr. Doyle never saw that one coming, but as always, he was a good sport and jumped right in.  The best part of these challenges is that Colby's oxygen saturations didn't drop below 92 percent!!  This is absolutely incredible, and we are so very thankful!!!

Burn Mudders

On Saturday, September 16, a big group from Burn did the Tough Mudder Full.  This was 10.5 miles, 20 obstacles, and a whole lot of mud!  I never thought that I would do something like this, but I am so glad that I did.  We had such a great time together, and I shocked myself with the obstacles I was able to accomplish.  I would have never in a million years thought I was capable of climbing over a wall by myself or carrying our 205 lb trainer on my back, but I did!  We never know what we are capable of until we try!!!

Short Cast

Brody was so excited to get his long arm cast off and trade it in for a short cast!  He went with a bright pink one...I guess real men wear pink.  : ) We are just thankful that his bones are healing well.

Now that he is in a short cast, he can get back on the field.  He was definitely eager for this day.  It was a long 3 weeks for him only getting to cheer from the sideline.  We were very thankful and happy to see him back in action doing what he loves!

More Boat Fun

We are so thankful for another warm weekend to get out on the boat and have some family fun!

Jason's New Toy

Jason replaced his Jeep with a boat, and we could not be happier with his decision!!!  We took it out every day over Labor Day weekend and had so much fun!  I can see lots and lots of fun family time on this boat.  These boys are growing up so fast, and I want to make as many fun memories with them as we can.
