Heart Walk 2014

The American Heart Association's Annual Nashville Heart Walk was Saturday, October 4.  This event seems to grow every year, and our Team Little Heart Heroes grows as well.  We are thankful to be a part of this big event, and we are also very thankful for friends and family supporting us with donations and / or walking with us.

Team Little Heart Heroes raised $7,520 for the American Heart Association this year.  $4,495 was donated in honor of our little heart hero, Colby.  This doesn't include $300 that is still pending from a company match, which will take Colby's total to $4,795 and our team total to $7,820.  Each year, we are blown away by the generosity of friends, family, acquaintances, and even strangers.  We are humbled, amazed, and extremely thankful!!

We know the successes that Colby has experienced to this point would not be possible without God, his doctors and surgeons, and the incredible research that has been done on congenital heart defects.  This is why Jason and I do this event and our bake sale every February.  We want to do what we can to raise awareness of congenital heart defects and hopefully encourage people to make donations towards more research. Money funds research, and research will produce new and better treatment options for these defects.  Who knows, maybe research can one day find a way to completely fix congenital heart defects, and what an awesome day that would be!
