Colby's Cath Procedure

We ended our Spring Break week with a one night stay at the hospital.  Colby's sats have been dropping over the last year, so Dr. Doyle wanted to do a cath to see what might be causing the lower sats.  Colby was so excited about going to the hospital.  He acted like he was in Disney World while waiting in Pre-op.  This boy can have fun anywhere!

To Dr. Doyle's surprise, the problem was his fenestration hole from his Fontan operation 3 years ago was still open.  These typically close on their own within 6-12 months...but not Colby's!  Dr. Doyle inserted a device that closed up the hole, and Colby's sats immediately went back up into the mid to high 90s.

It took him a while to completely wake up from the anesthesia, but once he did, there was no slowing him down.  He wanted to eat, and he wanted to walk around the halls to look at all of the artwork.  He was very happy when Poogie and Gacky brought Brody by for a visit.  Then later, Catherine brought Cain to visit too.  By morning, he was officially back to crazy Colby.  Right before they discharged him, he was racing us around the halls.

We went to dinner to celebrate his successful cath.  No one would have ever guessed what he had just been through.  This kid is truly amazing and inspires me daily!

The next morning, I found them in Brody's bed together.  I guess they really missed each other after that one night apart.  These 2 have crazy love for each other, and it just makes me so happy!

Colby was given a big card signed by many of his friends from Children's Church and a teddy bear when he went to church Sunday.  He was so surprised and happy!  We are blessed to have such an awesome church family.
