Colby's Marvelous Me Week in Kindergarten
This week, Colby was the Marvelous Me Student in his Kindergarten Class. He made this poster of pictures to help tell his friends all about him. He picked some great pictures to use, and his labels for the pictures make me smile.

Brody's 8th Birthday
Jason and I joined Brody at school for his birthday lunch. Mrs. McCoy had crowned him the Birthday Prince, and one of his friends, Presley, was the Birthday Princess. Presley's birthday is the day after Brody's.
After school, Brody was super excited to get home and open his presents. These boys are always up for presents!!
Over the last several months, Brody has become very interested in fast sports cars. So, for a special birthday treat, Jason and I took him to Music City Dream Cars to check out some of their awesome cars. Brody could not have been happier! He was in absolute heaven around all these cars. They even had his two favorites...a Lamborghini and a Ferrari.
After looking at the cars, we headed to Two Bits for dinner. This is a cool little place that has video and arcade games all over the restaurant. This was the first time we had been there, and Brody thought it was the best place ever! As we were leaving dinner, Jason ran into a friend who was there with a couple of NBA players. Brody met and had his picture taken with Steve Novak, which was very cool. He couldn't have been any nicer and talked to Brody for several minutes about sports, food, and school. This was a great way to end Brody's special birthday outing.
We ended our night back at home with Colby for birthday brownies. Brody, I cannot believe you are 8 years old! Watching you grow and develop has been such a blessing. You truly are a special little guy...wise beyond your years, caring, compassionate, sensitive, smart, funny, loving, handsome, and just a great example of who a Christian should be. Thank you for inspiring us in so many ways. Thank you for bringing us so much happiness. We are extremely proud of you and love you very much! Happy 8th Birthday!
Kindergarten Muffins with Mom
On Friday, August 22, Colby's class had Muffins with Mom. It was so much fun meeting all of his new classmates and their moms. This is a great class, and we are so thankful that Colby is a part of it!

Celebrating our Boys
We celebrated the boys' birthdays with a family dinner at our house on Saturday, August 16. We ate, played, had a pinata, and ate lots of cake! It's always a fun time spending time with our family.
Jeanine, Harper, and Darbye unfortunately couldn't be at the party, so we met them at Opry Mills for dinner and ice cream the weekend before. We couldn't miss out on celebrating with them too!
Summer Golf
Junior Golf ended with a pool and ice cream sundae party on Saturday, August 16. These boys absolutely loved playing golf this summer, and it was fun watching them improve with each round that they played.

AHA Faces of Heart Fest at the Zoo
The American Heart Association held their annual Faces of Heart Fest at the Zoo on August 14, and Colby could not wait to get there and have his face painted. He always remembers and looks forward to the face painting at this event! I always look forward to spending time with other heart families and watching these little survivors play together. Each and every one of them are truly amazing! We are very thankful to the Greater Nashville American Heart Association and all that they are doing for heart survivors and their families in this community.
Colby's 6th Birthday
Colby is 6!!! I honestly don't know where the last 6 years have gone. I feel like we were just bringing him home from the hospital with Brody shoving pacis in his mouth to keep him from crying. I love watching these boys grow up and experiencing each new age with them, but I really wish it wasn't going quite so fast.
We celebrated Colby's birthday with a little family party after school. He was so excited to open his presents, and I think he was pretty happy with all of his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle stuff. We also celebrated the next day with a special Colby, mom, and dad trip to the movies to see Guardians of the Galaxy.
Happy 6th Birthday Colby Chance! Thank you for giving us all hope and showing us what it means to have true faith. Thank you for continuously showing us that God is in control. Thank you for your crazy big love for life and for everyone around you. Thank you for always making us laugh. We love you Colby, and we are so blessed to have you as our son!
Thanks to some birthday money from Aunt Becky and Uncle Albert, Colby was able to go do some birthday shopping. He knew exactly where he wanted to go too. We headed to Barnes and Noble, and he bought 7 new books and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bookmark. He is super excited to read all of his new books!
