TN United Spring Soccer Tournament

It was a great weekend of soccer at the United Tournament.  Brody's team ended as finalists after a grueling championship game...two 5 minute overtime periods followed by 10 rounds of PKs.  It was heart wrenching watching those PKs!  Proud of all the boys for a great weekend of play!

Colby's team didn't make it to the finals, but they played great in their final game!  I even managed to catch one of Colby's goals (a PK) on video.  So proud of his hustle this weekend!

Middle School Soccer

This middle school soccer season was so much fun!  We loved watching our two boys play on the same team.  We are hopeful to see them back together in a couple years playing High School.  Let's go Hawks!!

Brody finished up his last season of middle school soccer with a selection to the All County 1st Team.  We are so proud of him!

The Evans had the whole team over to celebrate a fun season.  It is great seeing all the boys get along so well and have fun together.  These are some great kids, and we are happy to be a part of the MH family.

Nashville Soccer Club Game

The Nashville Soccer Club season opener was awesome!   It felt so good to be back at a professional sporting event cheering on our favorite team!

Soccer Stars Program

Brody has had the opportunity to volunteer with the Stars Program, which is a soccer program for young athletes with disabilities.  He is absolutely loving getting to know the kids, work with them, and spend time with his buddies while he does it.  I love that he is able to be a part of such an amazing program!

Hawk Walk and Run

Our school's annual 5K was on April 17, and I am so proud of our boys for running it!  They both set a goal time to hit, and they both beat it!!  I'm also feeling extra proud of Colby, considering this was his first ever 5K race, and he did it all on his own.

Brody: 22:18 (a PR for him)

Colby: 35:20

This is why I love fitness and sports!  It's all about challenging yourself to do hard and sometimes scary things and showing yourself just how capable you are.

I'm also proud of all my Personal Fitness kids who showed up, gave it their all, and finished under the time cap they thought was possible.  I hope they are all very proud of themselves too!

Easter

A beautiful day with family makes for a very Happy Easter!

Braces for Brody

Brody finally got his braces on March 31. We have been waiting for all of his baby teeth to fall out, and he is almost there.  As his dentist told us a few years ago...he is "dentally delayed."  Ha!  We can't wait to see the finished product in a couple of years.

Spring Soccer Tournament in Knoxville

Both boys' teams played in the Knoxville Soccer Tournament.  Neither team finished how they wanted to finish (second place), but they both played some great soccer!

Spring Break at Home

We spent Spring Break at home this year, and I am so glad we did.  It gave us a chance to relax and spend time together.  We also tried several new restaurants that we have never tried, which is always a fun treat!  My favorite day of Spring Break was the day that it was sunny and warm, and we were able to get out on the lake.  It was a good day that got us all even more excited about summer!

Burnin' for Bucks

I'm still struggling to find the right words to describe how I feel after the 4th Annual Burnin' for Bucks event. So many special people coming together to support a very special cause.  We raised $7,051 for CHD Research in honor of Colby and other kids like him.  My heart is just so very full, and I'm so proud of all my burn family!!

Snow Week Fun

We had a full week of snow days together, and it was so much fun!  God's majesty and beauty never cease to amaze me!
