P.K. Subban

Colby had a follow up appointment at Vanderbilt on Wednesday, December 20.  As we were leaving, Colby noticed P.K. Subban hanging out in the Seacrest Studios, which made his day! P.K. Subban is one of their favorite hockey players!  I LOVE how Vanderbilt does events like this regularly.  I also LOVE how so many professional athletes, musicians, and other stars come and volunteer their time.  Events like this really do mean so much to kids in the hospital and their siblings!

I must say that P.K. Subban is such a great guy!  He was so nice to the boys...asking them what they wanted for Christmas and being silly with them.  I can't think of any better way to end a very long appointment than meeting this rock star Nashville Predators player!

School Christmas Parties

We finished out this semester of school with the boys' Christmas parties.  It's hard to believe that this is Brody's last elementary school Christmas Party. Next year, he will trade in a party for exams.  I hope he enjoyed this last one to the fullest!!

Colby's 3rd grade class had a Fiesta, since they have been learning about different cultures.  He was excited about this party for over a week, because their food was quesadillas with chips and salsa.  This kid could live off of chips and salsa alone!  It was fun spending time with him and his friends during the party, and I think I might have gotten the best teacher picture I've ever gotten!!  Classic Colby!!

Burn Giving Tree

Part of my job responsibilities with Burn are to organize events that give back to our community.  For Christmas, I decided to contact local elementary schools to see if any families needed help this holiday season.  With the help of two members and friends, we received the names of 12 kids from 6 different families.  I made 94 tags with the different gifts that these 12 kids needed, and all of the amazing women at Burn took every one of those tags off the tree within 2 days!!  Then the presents started pouring in!!  It was so much fun seeing how big of a difference our little Burn Boot Camp family can make!!  I absolutely LOVE this part of my job at Burn, and I am so thankful that I was given this opportunity!

TUSC 06 Boys Christmas Party

On December 3rd, we hosted Brody's soccer team at our house for an end of season Christmas party.  With siblings, we had a total of 18 kids here...all boys but 1!  It was a little loud and crazy at times, but I wouldn't change a thing.  The parents stayed upstairs, and the kids took over the downstairs. We are very thankful to be able to do things like this!

The kids played Dirty Santa, and the parents were all shocked (not really) that most of the gifts were poop themed.  Ha!  Gotta love 11 year old boys!  We are looking forward to another fun season with this group of boys in the Spring!!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving day this year at Jeremy and Tammy's house, and then on Friday, we went to my Aunt Becky and Uncle Albert's house for Thanksgiving with them, my parents, and my sister and her girls.  It was great to have so much time to just hang out with family and enjoy a delicious meal together!  We have so much to be thankful for today and every day!!  God continues to bless us beyond what we deserve.

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!"
-1 John 3:1

Santa

Once again, we met my mom, sister, and her girls at Opry Mills the day before Thanksgiving to see Santa.  This is one of my favorite traditions!!  I love spending time together and getting some pictures of these cute cousins.  I just can't believe how big they are all getting!!  Luckily, they still aren't too big for Santa though!

Memphis Tournament with Brody's team

Brody's team traveled to Memphis again this year for the GIT.  We had so much fun spending time with his team mates and their families, and we also had a lot of fun cheering them on!

On Sunday morning, Jason led a devotional for Brody's team and the 2004 Boys Red team.  It was such a great way to start our day!  I'm beyond thankful for a husband (and dad for my boys) that loves God and is so good at sharing His word with others.

Thanksgiving Lunch at School

I loved spending time with my boys at their school's Thanksgiving lunch this year!  We were sad Jason couldn't be there, but we were eagerly awaiting him getting back into town that afternoon.

Halloween Trick or Treating

Happy Halloween!  We were soccer game day ready this year...2 soccer players, a referee, and a yellow card, because there always seems to be a yellow card with our biggest #9!

Halloween at Burn

On Halloween at Burn, a few of us decided to dress up as our trainer, Jeremiah.  Little did we know, he had plans of dressing up like one of us...a Burn girl!  It was an extremely funny morning at camp!

I am so thankful for these friends and for this place!  I can't imagine starting my day any other way.  To be surrounded by encouraging, loving, funny, and amazing girls every day is truly a blessing!

Soccer Tournament in Bowling Green

The boys played in a soccer tournament in Bowling Green on October 28 - 29, and it was FREEZING!  Brody's team played up a division in the U13 as an 11v11 team and did really well.  They only lost one game out of 4.  Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for a medal this time, but they no doubt learned a lot and will come back for the next tournament stronger than ever!

Colby's team didn't have a great weekend, but we are so proud of how well Colby played.  He's improving with every game.  His knowledge of the game and the way he can read the field is impressive...now we just have to get him to be a little more aggressive!

Calonge Halloween Party

The annual Halloween party at the Calonge's house was awesome as usual!  Brody was a scary clown, and Colby was a bloody heart surgeon...heart and all!

Fall Break

We had so much fun with the Cox Family this Fall Break!  We arrived just in time to watch the tropical storm come through, but then, the rest of the week was absolutely gorgeous!  We are always thankful for times to get away as a family and make some awesome memories!
