Burn Summit 2025 was full of learning, reflecting, growing, and fun! Summit weekend always reminds me of how thankful I am for our Burn Hendersonville family. We seriously have the best franchise partners, best team, and best members ever, and I am incredibly thankful to be a part of it. I left Dallas with a full heart and a head full of new ideas for this upcoming year.

We had the best day at Trevecca's Encounter! It was great to be on campus and just have an overwhelming sense of peace. Jason and I truly feel this is where Brody is meant to be, and we can't wait to see where God leads him.
It was also great to hear about all the people Brody met while we were there. It's a little intimidating to go into a new place and not know a single person, and we are thankful Brody stepped out of his comfort zone and made some connections. It will be fun to watch these new friendships grow over the next few years.
Now the countdown is on to move in day.
One week post op appointment today for Brody, and his hand "looks good." To me, it looks the worst it has looked yet, but they assure us that his skin graft looks great and fingers are healing well. He is even down to only bandages on the two fingers, so he can wear his watch again. He will go back for another check and meet with OT to start some hand therapy in a couple weeks. We are all glad to be a step closer to full healing with his hand.
More good news is he no longer has to wear the boot! PT said he was ready to take it off and wear his custom made insole instead. It's great to see him in two regular shoes again, even if one of them is much cleaner than the other. I guess 11 weeks of only wearing one of them will do that.

Surgery number 2 on Brody's hand went well today! The surgeon was able to remove the pin from his pinky, separate the pinky and ring finger, and do a skin graft to repair the missing skin on his ring finger. The best news is that it looks like he will still have mobility in the finger joint, which we were not sure about before today. He goes back to the clinic in a week for a post op visit and possibly start some hand therapy. Praying he continues to heal well and that this will soon be a distant memory.

Colby had a routine heart Cath yesterday. (It is recommended that he have one of these at least every 10 years to check heart function and pressures.) We fully expected to go home the same day, but we should know better by now. Dr. Doyle found some narrowing in his Fontan, which required a stent to be placed to widen the area. Due to the stent, Colby needed to stay overnight to be sure all looked good. He wasn't thrilled with this news, but some Mexican food delivered by Uber Eats helped a little.
Thankfully we are home now! Colby is tired and sore but doing pretty well, and we are all happy to get a little rest today.

Brody had a follow up with his surgeon this morning, and his finger is healing well! We are so thankful for a good report. He will have surgery again next week to separate his fingers and take the pin out. He will also have a skin graft to repair the missing skin from his ring finger. He still has a ways to go to full healing, but we are happy to see some good progress!
Colby spent last week at Church Camp and had so much fun! We are thankful he was able to attend this year and make some great memories with some great friends.
