Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve at our house with Nenny and Pa, Joan and Jeff, Jeremy and Tammy, and Emilee and Kylee.  Jason and I always look forward to making Christmas Eve dinner for everyone.  It is so much fun working together and getting it all done, and this year's dinner was especially delicious!  Of course, the kids favorite part is the presents!

When everyone left, the boys got in their pajamas, we put out milk and cookies for Santa, and then Colby read "The Night Before Christmas."

Christmas at Aunt Pat and Uncle Lee's House

We started our Christmas celebrations with our annual December 23rd get together at Aunt Pat and Uncle Lee's house.  We love spending time with this big group of extended family.  It is always a good time for sure!

School Christmas Party

The boys had their school Christmas parties on Wednesday, December 21.  I went back and forth between their parties to not miss anything, but I somehow didn't get any pictures from Brody's party.  I hate that I missed out on getting pictures with him and his friends.  I will have to do better at the next parties.  Both boys had fun though and were very eager to start Christmas break!!

CHD Video

Our dear friend, Suha Dabit (Nadia's mom), has found her calling of photography through Nadia's CHD journey.  I have loved watching her use this God given passion and talent to bless so many families with photos of their precious little heart warriors.  Suha has now started several video projects dealing with CHD.  One of her current projects is a video for the doctors, nurses, and staff at the hospital thanking them for all they do for our heart kids.  She used several CHD warriors in her video, including these 4 crazy kids, who all have a very special bond.  It was awesome to see these 4 miracles come together and talk about their special hearts and their journeys.  I cannot wait to see this video when Suha completes it, because I know it will be amazing!

MHMS Basketball

We wanted to cheer on our MHMS Hawks basketball team on Friday, December 16, and lucky for us, several of the boys' friends had the same idea.  I love watching these kids have fun together.  This school and these friendships are such a blessing!  The kids' night was made even better when the Hawks pulled out a win.

Polar Express Fun at Church

Our church had a Polar Express event on Sunday afternoon, December 11.  There were so many fun activities for the kids to do, like carpet ice skating, decorating cookies, crafts, hot chocolate station, and of course, seeing Santa.  The boys were more than happy to tell Santa their big wish list items again...just in case he had forgotten from earlier that day at Brunch.

Brunch with Santa

We enjoyed another Bluegrass Brunch with Santa this year on December 11.  The food was delicious, and the boys loved telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas.  Brody's big wish list item this year is a drone, and Colby is hoping for an Xbox 1.

Hendersonville Christmas Parade

The Hendersonville Christmas Parade was on Sunday, December 4.  It was rainy and cold, but we still had a great time!  The parade is always a great way to kick off our holiday season.  The highlight of this year's parade for Colby was seeing Champ from "his" hospital.  I LOVE that Colby loves the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital so much!!!

Basketball

Brody and Colby decided to give basketball a try this season, and they played their first games on Saturday, December 3.  Jason and I had so much fun watching their teams and cheering them on!  In soccer, they are both number 9, but for basketball, we are cheering on two number 1's.

I love how these boys continue to try new things.  I pray they never lose this confidence and eagerness to step outside their comfort zones.  We will continue to encourage them and remind them... "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."  Philippians 4:13

2nd Grade Play...Fairy Tale Villains vs The Land of Far Far Away

Mrs. McCoy's class performed the play Fairy Tale Villains verses The Land of Far Far Away on Friday, December 2.  This is a courtroom play, where the Land of Far Far Away characters are against the Fairy Tale Villains.  Colby played Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, and he was against the giant.  After hearing from all of the characters and from both attorneys, the audience gets to be the jury and decide who wins.  Colby and the rest of Far Far Away were very happy to win!
