Colby's 13th Birthday Trip to New York

For the boys' 13th birthdays, Jason wanted to do something extra special for them.  He decided on a trip to anywhere in the US they wanted to go...just him and the birthday boy.

Brody chose New York for his big trip two years ago, and Colby decided on New York for his big trip as well! Of course, Colby planned his whole trip around getting to see a Nashville Soccer Club game!  He also got to go to a Yankees game while they were there!  Between the sporting events and sightseeing, they found lots of great food to eat!  Colby fell in love with NY pizza. I honestly think the eating was one of Colby's favorite parts of this trip, which just makes me smile a little.  All of the years we spent praying for him to eat as a baby (and he wouldn't), and now look at him!   God always answers our prayers...in His timing!

I LOVE that Jason and Colby had this time together.  It was a great father son trip, and one that I don't think either of them will forget.  These boys are truly blessed with one amazing dad!

TUSC United Cup of Champions

It was a great weekend of soccer for Brody's team!  They are the U16 champs of the TUSC United Cup of Champions, letting zero goals in all weekend!!  Proud of these boys!

Burn's Sweating Away the Stigma

Burn's 2nd Annual Sweating Away the Stigma event was a big success!  Together, we raised almost $4,500 for two amazing organizations...The Jason Foundation and Team Jakey.  Both of these organizations provide education and support for suicide prevention.  Mental health is so important, and I love that Burn has this event!

Covid Vaccine

After a lot of prayer, emails with Colby's cardiologist, and discussions with good friends who are also pediatricians, we decided to move forward with our boys getting the Covid vaccine.  This had to be one of the toughest decisions we've made in a while concerning our boys.  So many unknowns.  So many what ifs.  So many fears.  But, isn't that life?  Isn't that parenting?  At the end of the day, all we can do is pray and do the best that we can do for our kids...and trust that God is in control!

Brody is Driving?!?!

What...just...happened?!?!  How is our first born old enough to get his drivers permit and drive a car?!?! Not sure I was ready for this big milestone, but ready or not, here we go!  And if you need me, I will be over here crying, wondering where the last 15 years went.
