Burn Friends Thanksgiving

I am so thankful for Burn and for the friendships I have made there, and it was so great to celebrate Thanksgiving with many of them today.  

Soccer State Champions

TUSC 08 Boys Red are STATE CHAMPS!!  What an incredible season for these boys!  They have been super focused on winning state since day 1 of this season, and watching them achieve that goal today was amazing!  We are so proud of this team! 

We are also very happy to see a season that started out with an unexpected surgery for Colby end so awesome!  He may have been sidelined for a few weeks, but this team (these boys) kept him going.  Sometimes it's about more than soccer...it's about the friendships, it's about the life lessons, and it's about learning to get back up and keep fighting when you get knocked down. 

Also, we didn't know this until today, but apparently Colby told. his team right after his surgery that if they won state, he would shave his head.  So, his head has been shaved.  A promise is a promise I guess.

Crossfit Trivium Event with Make a Wish

We are so thankful that Colby was asked to be a part of CrossFit Triviums WOD for Wishes Event this year.  Seeing Colby use his story and his gift of public speaking to help give back to an organization that has blessed us beyond belief is absolutely incredible!  Make-A-Wish works hard to grant wishes, and events like this help provide the much needed funding to make these wishes come to life!  Thank you CrossFit Trivium for opening your gym and your hearts for this amazing event each year, and thank you Make-A-Wish for continuing to work hard to grant wishes for so many kids!  You guys are making dreams come true!!

The workout was programmed using statistics from Colby's health journey...

• 8 rounds for the 8 surgeries he's faced 
• 20 synchro burpees for being diagnosed during his 20 week ultrasound
• 45 double unders for the 45 days he has spent in the hospital in his 14 years of life
• 9 cal echo for the age he was when he got his pacemaker (Also his soccer number!)

Halloween Fun

Jason and I (or Rip and Beth from Yellowstone) had some Halloween fun this year with friends we don't see nearly enough. It was so good catching up!  I was amazed by all the costumes...everyone looked so great!

Brody turned into Batman for Halloween night and went out with some friends.  

Colby is not pictured here, because he wasn't into dressing up or trick or treating.  Maybe next year!

TUSC Stars

Another fun season of Stars is complete.  We love this program and are so thankful that our boys can be a part of it!   

Tremont

Colby's class missed out on the traditional 7th grade Tremont trip due to Covid, but the school figured out a way for them to get a short trip in this year as 8th graders.  We are so thankful Colby and his friends had the opportunity to take this trip!  I'm sure lots of fun memories were made.
