Christmas Party at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital

On Saturday, we went to the Christmas Party for "cardiac kids" at the hospital. This party is done every year by the Heart Support Group. The Support Group is undergoing some major changes and has not met lately, so it was great to see everyone again! We really appreciate Kara, Susan, and Chasity (volunteer heart moms) for all of their hard work in getting this group up and running again.

The boys had a lot of fun at the party! There was Chik-fil-a food, cookies, Christmas activities, and Jay and Mark O'Shea!! The O'Sheas came to the party and led some Christmas Carols with the kids, which was great! The most exciting part, though, was of course Santa! This is the first time the boys have seen Santa Claus this year, and they both loved sitting with him and telling him all of the things they want for Christmas. Last year, Colby was scared to death of Santa and would not sit with him, so we were excited to see him so happy about Santa this year.

Mark and Jay O'Shea singing with the kids...

When Cain arrived, Colby was ready to play! It was so funny watching the two of them wrestle!

A little brotherly love...

Brody had a very serious conversation with Santa. He told him that he wants a Leapster, a cash register with money, and a camera.

If you have seen Colby in the last month, you know exactly what he wants for Christmas! Any time we even mention "Santa," he goes through his whole list, which includes Jesse, Woody, Buzz, Rex ("Roooar), and Bullseye ("OH, OH"). Luckily for Santa, Brody translated as Colby talked!

Cain wasn't too fond of Santa this year and was crying. Colby thought he needed a big hug and kiss to make him feel better.

As all of the kids were gathering in the hall for a group picture, I was taking a few pictures of just Brody and Colby. In a matter of seconds, Colby's pants were down around his ankles. I wasn't completely sure he did it on purpose until I saw the picture below. This is proof that he intentionally pulled his pants down and was proud of it! He is already a little clown!
Below is a link to a video done by Studio Church, which is the very generous church that volunteered their time to help with this party. We really appreciate them!!
