Weekend Getaway

Jason and I love going to Gatlinburg, but we have not been able to go for the last several years.  In fact, the last time we went was when Brody was only a few months old, so we decided it was time for a weekend getaway!  Poppy, Jeremy, Tammy, Emilee, and Kylee also went, and we all shared a great cabin in Pigeon Forge. We went to the Aquarium, rode go karts, did a bungee trampoline, and took a Christmas Lights Tour on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, we ate a big pancake breakfast and hit the outlet mall!  Luckily, this outlet mall had a Disney Store and a Toys R Us...this made it a little more tolerable for the boys.  

I love getting away for the weekend!  I wish we could do it more often.  It is so nice to just get away from everything and have fun as a family!!  Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are perfect for this too.  It is beautiful, and there are so many fun things to do and memories to make.  I can't wait to go back!

Colby was so excited to see sea horses...

He was cracking me up with this book.  It is just a chapter book that came "free" to the kids with admission to the Aquarium, but he thought it was a guide book.  He kept showing me pages and explaining what we were looking at and telling us the temperature of the water and the size of the fish.  Hilarious!  I have no idea where he comes up with this stuff!

This was Brody and Colby's first time to ever drive go karts, and they loved it!! All their hours of driving their Power Wheel Cars around the neighborhood has paid off.  They are great little drivers!   Brody and Emilee kind of surprised me and got very competitive on the track!  Both wanted to be in the lead and get the most laps.

Brody has done the bungee trampoline a few times at different places, but Colby has never been big enough. Most places have a minimum weight of 30 pounds, and he has never weighed more than 28 pounds.  This place did not have a minimum weight, though!  Colby was super excited to finally get the chance to jump on the bungee trampoline!!
