Senior Awards Day

Sunday afternoon was Senior Awards Day at MHMS.  Brody was recognized for receiving an Academic Scholarship to Trevecca.  He also received the Entrepreneurship Award.  We are so proud of the work he has put into growing his business using the skills he's learned from all the business classes he's taken during high school. Merrol Hyde's CTE Department is top notch, and we are so thankful for the teachers who run it!  Angela Lewis, you are one of a kind!

Senior Sunday at Church

It was an emotional weekend in the Hitchcock House celebrating our senior!  After prom on Saturday night, we had Senior Sunday at church Sunday morning and Senior Banquet Sunday night.  This is the day it started feeling real to all of us.  Brody has almost made it to the end of one chapter.  He is graduating high school in less than 2 weeks and moving on to his next big adventure.

I'm so thankful for our church family!  I'm thankful for all the people who have poured into Brody and helped shape him into the man he is today.  I'm thankful for William and Hailey, who have led him so well in the youth group for the last 4 years.  I'm thankful for Brody's Sunday School teachers who love him so well.  I'm thankful for a great group of seniors, who Brody has grown up with and grown close to.  I pray these friendships continue to grow, even thought they are all going their separate ways in the Fall.

Senior Prom

MHMS Senior Prom!  Brody and Emily looked awesome, and they went with a great group of kids!  I'm so thankful that there was a break in the rain for them to get these pictures.  Another "last" for Brody that we don't want to forget.

Tennessee Titans Cheer Finals

I had so much fun today at the 2025 Titans Cheerleader Finals!  The dancers were awesome, and my sister killed it as the host!  From cheerleader to choreographer to judge to now host.  She can do it all and do it well!

Soccer Senior Night

Even a Lisfranc Injury couldn't keep Brody from enjoying his Senior Night, and it definitely didn't keep us from celebrating him!  He was able to take the field one final time to kick off the start of the game.  Seeing him out there was so emotional, but I just couldn't stop thinking about how proud I am of him.  I'm proud of his long and successful soccer career, I'm proud of the work ethic he's developed, I'm proud of the sportsmanship he has demonstrated, I'm proud of the maturity he's gained, I'm proud of the friendships he's made through soccer, I'm proud of the grit he's shown, I'm proud of how he has handled adversity, and I'm especially proud of how he has handled this major injury.  Being sidelined in your senior season is not fun, but he has found a way to stay positive.  He is way more mature than I was at his age, and he knows that God's plans are better than our plans.

Please continue to pray that his foot heals and he can avoid surgery.  We would love to see him back on that soccer field next year for the Alumni game!

Brody's Senior Walk

Brody and the Senior class took their Senior Walk yesterday through the halls of this school they've been attending for so many years!  Seeing the pictures and videos of this makes me so emotional.  I cannot believe that they will graduate in less than a month!

Gatlinburg

We had the best time last weekend in Gatlinburg with great friends/ my work family!  I'm so thankful for time away to reflect and reset.  This beautiful hike we took was the perfect reminder that the best views always come after the toughest climbs.  We've definitely had some tough climbs over the last few months, but I know the view at the top will all be worth it.  We will just keep climbing!
