Some friends and co-workers of Jason sent Colby tickets to a Nashville Soccer Club Game as a get well present after his surgery. We were all very excited to attend our first game together as a family. It was a beautiful night with an amazing rainbow, and the team won the game!! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect night!

Brody's Church Camp
Brody attended our church's day camp this summer and had a ton of fun! He was able to spend time with friends from church and several friends from school that also attended the camp. We are so thankful that Brody is surrounded by so many great boys!!
Happy Father's Day
Happy Father’s Day to one of the BEST dads around! Thank you Jason for leading our family, loving our family, providing for our family, and showing our boys exactly what it means to be a strong Christian man!! It’s just an added bonus that you add all the fun to our family too! We LOVE you!!!
Pacemaker Time
On Wednesday, June 13th, Colby had his pacemaker implanted. It was no surprise to us that he was making all the nurses and doctors laugh in the pre-op area. His strength and courage just amaze me!
After a one night stay, we headed home...with big balloons and gifts in hand. We are so very thankful for all of the love shown to Colby. We received so many messages, calls, visits, and gifts, and we truly appreciate each and every one of them!!! We especially appreciate all of the prayers, because we know that is what got us through!
After getting Colby home and settled from the hospital, I was able to pick up Brody. Thank you to Kimberly Delaney for bringing him back from Maryville while we were waiting to be discharged. It was the BEST night ever having both babies home safe and sound together.
June 20 - Colby had a bad skin reaction to the dermabond they used over his incision. They removed the dermabond Monday, but then he broke out in a rash all over his body. So, we had to go back today. Thankful that the incision looks a little better with no sign of infection. No idea what caused the rash, but we are praying that it clears up quickly and doesn’t cause any issues with his recovery.
In true Colby fashion, he hasn’t complained at all, even though I know it has to itch like crazy!! I think he was just thankful to get a Subway sandwich and icee in the hospital food court today. It’s the little things!
June 26 - First device check post implant...looking good!! I am amazed by this pacemaker and the technology involved.
Incision is also looking good! Thank goodness we are moving past the skin reaction and rash now.
A couple more weeks of restrictions, and then this guy will be back in action!! He is eagerly awaiting that day!
July 11 - We are all high fives around here today!! It has been exactly 4 weeks since pacemaker implant, which means Colby is cleared to raise his right arm over his head and resume all normal activities!!

Colby at Church and Soccer Camp
Colby was able to attend the first two days of Church and Soccer camp before his big surgery. He was sad to miss out on the rest of the week, but we were all thankful he could at least experience a couple days! To say he was worn out after two full days of church camp followed up by 2 nights of soccer camp is an understatement, but he loved every minute of both!!
Brody at Maryville Soccer Camp
Brody attended his first away soccer camp this summer at Maryville College. He spent 4 nights in a college dorm with no adult. I can't believe he is old enough for this now!! How did this happen?!?!?
I am thankful he had some good friends at camp with him, especially his best friend, Carter, that he roomed with. I am also thankful for wi-fi and FaceTime, so I could see his sweet face at least once a day. He had a ton of fun and is already excited about going back next summer.

Prayers Requested
This kid...he’s hilarious, laid back, smart, kind, compassionate, loves BIG, super strong, and very brave. I am in awe of him daily. He has been through more in his 9 1/2 years than most experience in a lifetime, and he does it all with a smile on his face. He just rolls with the punches of life and chooses to be positive and optimistic about it all. I pray I can be more like him!
We would appreciate your prayers for this one of a kind kid this week. After a few good surgery free years, he will be having another heart surgery on Wednesday, June 13. He will be getting a pacemaker. We have always known this would be a possibility, but we of course didn’t expect it at 9 years old. Please pray for a successful procedure Wednesday, easy recovery, and a much stronger (and faster
😊) heart rate afterward. Thank you!

Memorial Day Classic
We got an awesome Burn group together to run the Memorial Day Classic in support of the Crisis Pregnancy Center. This is the first 5K I have done in probably 5 years, and I am so glad I did. Before the race, one of the girls reminded me that I need to continue challenging myself...not just pushing others to challenge themselves. So, before the race started, I challenged myself to run the 5K in 25 minutes. The fastest I have ever done one is around 27 minutes. I was so happy to finish it in 23:03!!!! I beat my goal and PR'd by 4 minutes, which earned me 1st place in my age group and the 5th overall woman! I think we might have to make this one an annual Burn event!
Surfing Fun
My boys (including Jason) were finally able to try out surfing, and they loved it!! I see a lot of surfing days in our future!
