This past weekend, we got more snow than we have seen in seven years. It was beautiful, and Brody had so much fun playing in it! Colby enjoyed being outside with the big kids too, even though it was a little harder for him to get down and play.
We started this blog after Colby, our youngest son, was prenatally diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defects: Tricuspid Atresia, large VSD, Hypoplastic Right Heart, and Bilateral SVCs. Colby was born on August 4, 2008 at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. After a 2 week stay in the NICU for monitoring, he was able to come home with no immediate surgery. At 2 months old, though, Colby was unexpectedly admitted back into the hospital to face his first of three surgeries, the BT Shunt. In July of 2009, he had his pre-Glenn Catheterization followed by his Glenn Operation in late August 2009. This was only a few short weeks after his 1st birthday. His third and final surgery, the Fontan, was in March 2011 at 2 1/2 years old. His surgery went well, and we were home six days later. Since then, Colby has been doing great, and he is loved by so many, especially his big brother Brody! Colby continues to amaze us every day with his strength and spirit. He is truly a miracle! Thank you for reading our blog and keeping up with Colby's progress, as well as other special events in our lives that we enjoy documenting on our blog. We really appreciate your comments, love, support, and prayers!

You must have the snow that we usually get this time of year! It's been so nice here...feels like an early spring. Glad the boys enjoyed it :)
