City Meet 2015

Friday, July 10: 6 and under swimmers

The six and under kids swam on Friday afternoon.  The theme for the meet this year was superheroes, and our coaches and kids went all out.  They looked great!  

Colby did so well, and we could not be any prouder of him!!  Last year, he was only able to do his 25 yd Freestyle, but this year, he swam every event, including the Freestyle Relay.  That is 4 events that are back to back.  It is so much fun watching him do the things that he loves, and he definitely loves to swim!  It is also fun watching him see improvement with all of the hard work he puts in at practice.  His 25 yd freestyle was 17 seconds faster than last summer!

25 yd Backstroke--44.10 seconds / 63rd out of 91
50 yd Mini IM--1:25.21 / 36th out of 46
Freestyle Relay--finished 3rd in division

Saturday, July 11: 7-8 and 9-10 swimmers

The 7-8 and 9-10 year old divisions took place on Saturday.   It was a very long and tiring day, but it was a fun and successful day for Bluegrass, with 3 swimmers making the podium.  Brody swam in the 7-8 boys novice division and won 1st place overall!!  He has dreamed of being on that podium since he started swimming, and it was so awesome to watch him make the top of that podium this year!  We are so proud of him!  He set a goal and worked hard to achieve it!
