The next day, June 28, Nashville Soccer club sent another limo to pick us up for the second part of Colby's Wish Experience...a tour of the offices and stadium. It is very cool to see all the pieces and parts that make the Club run and be successful.
We were welcomed into the stadium with a large group of staff cheering for Colby. They then led him to the Nashville SC guitar and let him play a few notes. As we looked around, his picture was on every screen in that stadium...super cool!
Next up was a tour of all the suites and club level areas, where Colby and Brody insisted we needed to buy seats. Ha ha! I can't blame them, though. The options available are very nice!!
We then toured where the press sit during games and the sound room where literally everything in that stadium is controlled on game day. There are so many buttons and screens and controls. I don't know how they do it, but I'm so thankful that they do! This is such a huge part of the game day experience, and they do an amazing job!
We got to see the room where the press conferences are held before heading to the locker room. In the locker room, we met Tempo, and he had scarves and custom jerseys for the boys. He then led us down the tunnel and onto the field. They shot T-shirts out of the cannon before playing a little soccer together. Jason even jumped in at the end.
We were able to meet and talk with head groundskeeper and learn how they take care of the field, which is definitely a huge undertaking! To our surprise, they even let Colby try out the mower. He started out a little rough but thankfully figured it out pretty quickly. He only left a small curvy mow line.
The last part of our day was lunch on the terrace overlooking the field with Ian Ayre, the CEO of the club. The Head Chef had prepared a meal including all of Colby's favorite foods...chips and salsas, flights of tacos (the last one being a Nashville Hot Chicken Taco), and churros for dessert. It was all delicious!
This was another absolutely incredible day filled with so many memories that we never want to forget, and once again, everyone we met was so kind to our family. This truly is a very special Soccer Club!
